My friend John Kern and I wrote these songs while living together in college. We would record long jam sessions and then review our recordings later on to help us improve our musicianship as individuals and as a whole. Slowly we started piecing these recordings together into elaborate songs opposed to repetitive jams that we would loop and eventually formulated this album. I love John Kern with all my heart. He's a dear childhood friend of mine and I cherished every minute making this album with him. Here's to a good 5-years.

John Kern and I were also in another band together at the time called Animeaux. The songs "Hippopotamus", "manatee" and "scraps" are 3 parts of 1 larger song that we called "Underwater" which we would perform with Animeaux. I felt compelled to mention that.
